One of my favourite quotes ever: "Knowledge can never replace friendship. I prefer to be an idiot." Thanks to Patrick Star for that. It'll never stop being funny and heartwarming to me.

So I'm at work right now and the servers are down and none of last night's high school football photos have come through the feed. I'm looking through today's paper to find stories to get some updates ready even if I can't publish yet.

I can't believe it's October already. October's my favourite month--mainly because a bunch of my family and friends celebrate their birthdays this month, including me :). In India, October's really hot, humid and wet. It's towards the end of the monsoon season and I remember one year we were travelling from Bombay to Madras by train. I don't remember what the occasion was because it was the middle of the school year, yet here we were, travelling from one part of the country to the other. I celebrated my birthday on the train; my mother had bought chocolates and such so I had some goodies on my day. When we reached Madras, it was pouring.
I never liked the monsoon season too much. It rains the whole time and the streets fill up with dirty rainwater. And the streets are dirty enough to begin with. So imagine what it's like with the mud, the dirt, the nasty, and the rainwater all mixed up in one giant concoction and that's what stagnates the streets.
When I lived in Madras, my grandfather's house was at the end of the street. I had to walk through that dirty river to get to the front of the street to catch the van that took me to school. Of course, I stepped on as many stones as possible, but it still didn't help much.

Here, the weather turns from balmy, warm late summer days to the crisp, cool weather of autumn. I love watching the leaves change colours and I guess sometimes I like the cooler weather, but honestly, autumn just means it's one step closer to winter, my least favourite season, so it's not that fun for me.

But still, I love October. Lots of birthdays, nature looks lovely, and well, I dunno. It's held a lot of nice memories for me.

So this was a really random post but I just felt like writing something random. I'm going to get stuff done now.

Good Saturday to all!
